The EITC Funders Network held its annual policy webinar on March 3rd, 2020.
2019 was a big year for state tax credit wins, with state expansions that supplement the federal EITC’s well-documented two-generation benefits and help build a path to improving racial and gender equity. On the federal level, the passage of the VITA Permanence Act was a tax time win that recognizes the program’s crucial role in high quality, accessible tax preparation and connecting families to the tax credits they depend on. This webinar presented a look back at the successes and challenges of the past year and gave a glimpse into what is coming down the road in 2020.
Speakers included:
Rebecca Thompson, Director, Taxpayer Opportunity Network
Samantha Waxman, Policy Analyst, Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.
