Four Ways to Reduce Racial Inequities in the Federal Income Tax System: Meet the Researcher

While the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) doesn’t ask taxpayers about their race and ethnicity, the impacts of the federal income tax system are not race neutral. A recent Urban Institute research paper explores how seemingly “colorblind” federal tax policies and practices can reinforce long-standing structural barriers to economic opportunity for communities of color.

On December 17th from 2-2:30pm ET, the Tax Equity Funders Network hosted a Meet the Researcher session to provide an opportunity for funders to learn more about this research and how charitable foundations can work to address equity in the tax code and tax systems.
